Many people have had a religious experience. They have attended a church.
They may have even joined a church, been baptized, christened, or confirmed.
However, many do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. They
may know who He is. They may know some facts about Jesus. However, they do
not have a intimate, loving relationship with Him.
Jesus calls you to follow after Him. Jesus said to the man named Matthew,
"Follow Me!" Matthew immediately rose and followed Him.
(Mark 2:14) Matthew followed Jesus for the rest of his life. Jesus
desires that you follow Him.
Jesus wants you to be close to Him. He said, "Abide in Me, and I in you.
. . .I am the vine, you are the branches." (John 15:4-5)
Just like a branch must be attached to the vine to live and produce fruit,
so you must be attached to Jesus to truly live!
We are not "attached" to Jesus because we have rebelled.
(Romans 3:23) Our rebellion, our sin against God, has separated us so
that we do not have a relationship with Jesus.
In spite of our rebellion, Jesus loves us. He showed "His own love toward
us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
(Romans 5:8)
Jesus said, "Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his
life for his friends." (John 15:13) Jesus laid down
His life on Calvary's Cross. He died so that you could have a personal
relationship with Him.
Do you want to know Jesus?
Do you want to have a personal relationship with Jesus?
Talk to Him right now. Say something like:
Dear Jesus, I want to have a close, personal relationship with you. I
know that my rebellion has separated us. I know I have been wrong and I need
Your forgiveness. I want to turn from doing things my way and turn to You. I
believe that You died for me and that You rose again. I trust You to begin
in me a new relationship with You. Thank you, Jesus. Amen.

You must continue to develop this relationship with Jesus.
You get to know Jesus through daily reading and studying the Bible and
talking to Him in prayer. You show your love for Jesus by doing what the
Word says. (John 14:15, 15:10) You need to get with
other people who have a deeper relationship with Jesus. Find a
Bible-believing and preaching church and go as often as you can.
